Written on 15 Feb 2019.

The Chinese Lunar New Year is the oldest and most important festival in China, comparable to Christmas in the West. Typically, the celebration begins on the New Year's Eve and lasts for around 15 days through the middle of the first month. Every year, EDHEC students from China set up a big gala event to celebrate the Chinese New year on EDHEC's Lille and Nice campuses and introduce this important festival to their classmates and the EDHEC community.

The year of the Earth Pig

This year, students form France and all over the world were being introduced to ancient and modern Chinese culture, such as martial arts, calligraphy and dance performances and many more. Local Chinese restaurants sponsored the event and prepared delicious traditional Chinese dishes. There were also several interesting interactive activities, such as collecting lucky cards, a lottery and a selfie contest. This colourful event attracts many students form all programmes, happy to mix and mingle and celebrate together.

With students coming from all over the globe, EDHEC Business School provides an international environment with more than 90 different nationalities on campus and 250 academic partnerships of exchange and double-degree programmes to study and work abroad.
