I was raised in a city in the heart of Amazon. When I turned 18, I moved to Rio de Janeiro for my Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. I did two exchange programmes in Canada and England to become fluent in English.
After my bachelor’s degree, I found myself with very academic knowledge and based solely in the local market. I wanted to broaden my horizons and dive into an international career. During my bachelor’s, I had started my career in finance and soon found out that I wanted to shift my career towards the entrepreneurial and strategic management sector. I thought that EDHEC and its top-tier MIM programme would provide me with the opportunity to develop my international exposure with a hands-on study approach.
Furthermore, EDHEC allowed me to explore the European job market as I have been able to work in Germany. I’m now studying in the Netherlands for my Master 2 year. These are opportunities that I did not imagine I could seize before joining EDHEC.
It has been 3 intense years!
During my gap year, I decided to explore a new country and I did my two internships in Germany. I worked for two startups in the Operations and Data Analytics departments. These experiences gave me the base for my future career.
Undoubtedly, one of the key points of my experience is the multicultural environment. I have met students from all over the world and made friendships that will last throughout my life.
The possibility to “customise” my path (ex. gap year and M2 choices) was also very beneficial.
I would like to add the amazing services offered by the Career Centre. The team gave me all the necessary tools and advice to start my career in a new country. Apart from the online platform with daily job updates, they helped me identify my strengths and weaknesses, develop your CV, take mock interviews…
Last but not least, the International Students Office provided me with useful information and advice to move and settle abroad smoothly.
I chose to pursue a double degree in International Business with a specialisation in Strategy and Innovation at Maastricht University to further develop my international knowledge.
I’m passionate about different cultures and I wanted to have a broader vision of the European market. The partner University is also very well known for the high quality of its curriculum. The city is also very well located, making it possible to take short trips to different countries.
When I came to EDHEC, I was already committed to start my career in Europe, and thanks to the school’s reputation, I feel very well equipped to dive into it!
EDHEC’s Career Centre gave me the necessary tools to not only help me discover the exact field I wanted to work in but also, to build up the necessary paths to find the right job position. I will also mention the fact that as an EDHEC Alumna, I will get lifetime career advice.
Furthermore, EDHEC has an extensive alumni network with people all around the world willing to help recent graduates. I had the opportunity to have contact with some of them. I also benefited from the mentoring of a senior executive, an EDHEC alumnus, with whom I exchange a lot.
Now, completing my double degree, I decided to start my career in France and with all of these amazing experiences EDHEC gave me, I feel completely prepared to face the French job market.
I advise further students to get the best of all the EDHEC services which include the Career Centre, the International Students Office, the language centre, career fairs, and the amazing Alumni network. Furthermore, I would advise them to explore all the possibilities to customize their programmes, from exchanges to entrepreneurial initiatives.
Vibrant, memorable, intense.
